Early in Rick’s career, his father, John, offered these words of wisdom: Take care of your clients, and everything else will take care of itself. Today, as the founder and sole managing member of Nye Wealth Management, Rick leads with this philosophy as he helps individuals and families prepare for retirement with clarity, confidence and care.
Seeing clients’ relief knowing Rick is with them for the long haul continues to drive him every day.
Before finding his calling in financial services, Rick worked various jobs, from night shifts watering golf course fairways and greens in college for beer money to working as a dishwasher (who occasionally danced with a mop). He also worked as a telemarketer for the Fraternal Order of Police. After being promoted to office manager, Rick delayed his college graduation and relocated to Orlando.
That job was foundational for Rick, teaching him everything from leadership to navigating tough conversations and preparing him for the day he, his father and brother, Randy, launched Nye Financial Group in 1999. In 2013, Rick founded Nye Wealth Management.
Clients often describe Rick as their “Comprehensive Retirement Planning Resource” and view him as a true partner in navigating life’s financial transitions. He knows—and helps clients understand—that planning for retirement isn’t just about numbers on a spreadsheet; it’s about creating plans that balance today’s joys with tomorrow’s security.
When not helping clients, Rick enjoys family time with Camala, his wife of over 30 years, and their three grown children, Madison, Spenser and Lincoln. Family pets — specifically Dobermans — are also an important part of the fabric of the Nye family, so much so that Rick and Camala still raise Dobermans today.
The whole family are devout supporters of the Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Guardians. The family has also perfected the art of Disney vacations. A lover of U.S. history, Rick loves books on America’s founding fathers, presidents and key battles. On crisp mornings, he finds peace in a duck blind with friends or his son, taking in the calm of nature.
